Standard Guarantee and Liability Terms

1. Ensto Building Systems Oy (”Ensto”) grants a warranty on equipment listed below (“Equipment”) under these warranty conditions. The warranty does not cover software installed in the Equipment.

2. The warranty covers the territory of the European Union. When the Equipment is sold for resale or resupply purposes the warranty period starts on the date of purchase of Ensto’s first contracting partner concerning the Equipment. When the Equipment is sold directly by Ensto to the end customer the warranty period starts from the date of purchase of the end customer. However, the warranty period shall not be valid longer than the maximum period mentioned below starting from the date of manufacture of the Equipment.

3. Ensto undertakes at its option and expense to either repair or replace the Equipment in case a design, material or manufacturing defect occurs during the warranty period of the Equipment.

4. The Equipment covered by this warranty and their warranty periods are:

  • Ensto heating cables for inside use (TASSU, TASSU S, THINKIT, THINMAT) 20 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 21 years from the date of manufacture, Ensto heating cables for outside use (TASH, PLUG'N HEAT) 10 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 11 years from the date of manufacture except for (OPTIHEAT), for which the warranty period is 5 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 6 years from the date of manufacture.
  • Ensto heaters 5 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 6 years from the date of manufacture.
  • Ensto ECO heating control devices 2 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 3 years from the date of manufacture.
  • Ensto luminaires 5 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 6 years from the date of manufacture. Only fixed light sources are covered by this warranty. Yearly operating time must not exceed the times stated in SFS-EN 15193 (Energy efficiency in buildings, energy efficiency in lighting) standard and specific building type normalized maximum operating time in hours:
    • Office: 2500 h;
    • School: 2000 h;
    • Hospital: 5000 h;
    • Hotel: 5000 h;
    • Restaurant: 2500 h;
    • Sportshall: 4000 h;
    • Shops: 5000 h;
    • Industrial spaces: 4000 h.

In other spaces than notified in SFS-EN 15193 standard, yearly maximum operating time is 3000 hours.

5. Ensto panel boards 3 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 4 years from the date of manufacture, except for panel board’s mini circuit breakers (MCB), residual current circuit breakers (RCCB) and contactors, for which the warranty period is 2 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 3 years from the date of manufacture.

6. Chago electric vehicle charging products 3 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 4 years from the date of manufacture. Ensto Media and Ensto Power products 2 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 3 years from the date of manufacture.

7. All other Ensto equipment 2 years from the date of purchase but no longer than 3 years from the date of manufacture.

8. The buyer must inform Ensto of any fault or defect detected in the Equipment in accordance with these warranty conditions without delay and no later than within two (2) months of when the fault or defect was detected, or should have been detected, at the risk of the warranty of the Equipment expiring. The report must be made to the retailer of the product or the contact person at Ensto Building Systems Oy. The report must specify the Equipment, date of purchase, seller, installer and the location of the Equipment. The report must include the contact information of the person who made the report and a description of the fault or defect. In addition, the purchase invoice, receipt of purchase or other similar proof of the acquisition and date of purchase of the Equipment must be attached to the report.

9. The validity of the warranty for the Equipment requires that the defect or fault of the Equipment has been reported to Ensto in accordance with these warranty terms and conditions, and that the title and possession of the Equipment or its part replaced under warranty transfers or is transferred to Ensto upon replacement. Repairing or replacing the Equipment or its part under this warranty does not extend the remaining original warranty period of the Equipment.

10. The warranty is granted on conditions that the Equipment is installed by an authorized installer (does not apply to Equipment intended to be self-installed) and that the Equipment is used, serviced, and maintained in accordance with the intended purpose of the Equipment following the instructions concerning the Equipment.

11. The warranty does not cover an Equipment or its part:

  • for which the repair or replacement demand results from ordinary wear and tear;
  • which is consumable, such as switches, light bulbs, indicator ligth bulbs/LED indicator lights, other bulbs and fuses;
  • with a modified or removed rating plate;
    which the buyer or a third party has repaired, modified, added to or made adjustments to not compliant with instructions without a prior written approval by Ensto;
  • if Ensto has not been notified of its defectiveness in accordance with these warranty terms and conditions;
  • which has been broken or damaged due to the negligence of a party other than Ensto or due to an accident, misuse, erroneous installation, erroneous use, voltage fluctuation, atypical temperature, humidity, dirt, corrosion or erosion; or
  • which has otherwise been broken or damaged due to causes beyond Ensto’s reasonable control.

In no event shall Ensto be liable for the expenses or costs incurred by disassembly or installation of a repaired or replaced Equipment or its part that has not been agreed in writing with Ensto beforehand, this liability covering only necessary disassembly or installation actions and reasonable expenses or costs incurred thereby.

In no event shall Ensto be liable for any indirect or consequential expense, cost or damage including interruption of production, loss of profits, product usability or benefit of use, loss of contract, and disruption to the living environment. However, these warranty conditions do not limit the rights provided in consumer trade by mandatory legislation relating to a defect in an equipment bought by a consumer.
